Attacks increasing:
The number of indemnified attacks on herds in 2011 for wolves is superior to that of 2010 (about + 30%) and with a lower increase of the number of victims (about + 18%). However there is an important difference betweens departments : the number of attacks in Rhône-Alpes is globally decreasing while it is increasing in PACA.
The increase of the attacks noticed in 2009 and 2010 compared to datas between 2006 and 2008 seems to be confirmed thus year.
This increase is due to the intensification of the attacks in some areas and to the appearance of new areas.
